MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) weekly awards were announced for play through Sunday, December 11. The dynamic duo of Tess Adams (Calgary, Alta.) and Brooke Susac (Bowmanville, Ont.) of SUNY Canton were named Player and Goaltender of the Week respectively. Endicott College's Jade Meier (Fairbanks, Alaska) earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Player of the Week
Tess Adams – SUNY Canton
(Sophomore, Forward – Calgary, Alta.)
Adams scored all three goals for the Roos, including the game-winner, in their nonconference win over SUNY Cortland. The sophomore opened the scoring in the second period with an unassisted tally and added another score in the closing minute of the frame. After the Roos relinquished a two-goal lead in the third; Adams knocked in the game winner with less than two minutes to play to seal the victory.
Goaltender of the Week
Brooke Susac – SUNY Canton
(Freshman, Goaltender– Bowmanville, Ont)
Susac made 20 saves to record her sixth victory of the season as the Roos picked up a 3-2 win vs. Cortland on Tuesday. One of the two goals the freshman gave up came with the Red Dragons on the power play. The freshman made eight saves each in the second and third periods.
Rookie of the Week
Jade Meier – Endicott College
(Freshman, Forward – Fairbanks, Alaska)
Meier set the Gulls' single-game program record for assists with three in Endicott's 5-0 win over Nichols on Saturday. Endicott ends first semester play as one of only two undefeated programs in Division III Women's Hockey, boasting a 10-0-1 record.
